i did some volunteering for zohran. Most of the people I talked to were very enthusiastic about him. I’m cautiously optimistic

Good take. Always keep politicians feet the fire. Especially after they are elected like this. Optimism with constructive criticism is the way forward. Policians are not saviors. Right now they are tools we can use to build larger mass movements of the working class.

Essentially, the plan revolved around the hope that Mamdani’s young supporters wouldn’t come out again to support him in November, at least not to the degree they had in the Democratic primary, and that the anti-Mamdani resistance could scrounge up about half a million voters who don’t normally vote in mayoral elections to support someone else — essentially, anyone else — this fall.

The fact that conservatives, neoliberal, maga, and even trump himself want anyone besides Mamdani shows how much we need candidates like him.

But especially that they all want Cuomo, when he was playing “the resistance” to trump just a few years ago.

But they’re not just scared of Mamdani, the current DNC chair is a huge fan, and wants to emulate his campaign (especially policy) for the next presidential candidate.

Mamdani winning in NY sets the stage for someone like AOC in 2028, after a progressive wave in midterms.

Don’t let the oligarchs discourage you, they’re scared because for the first time in decades they could conceivably lose. And they’ll fight tooth and nail to not lose anything, so we might as well demand everything at once.
