He got torn apart by Trump behind closed doors and now he’s overcompensating for his failures by being even more abusive than usual to try and salvage this and win daddy Trump’s approval again. Because conservatives think hitting harder and being less empathetic is obviously the solution and since Trump is a raging narcissist and has zero empathy, the standard for what’s acceptable is anything that doesn’t harm Trump. Why would anyone think Trump, the racist, serial child rapist, would give a fuck about some brown children getting blown apart?

Rules of engagement are literally how you define the difference between a civilian and an enemy combatant.

“No rules of engagement” is military lingo for “yes to all the war crimes.”

I dunno, maybe putting an alcoholic psychopath in charge of the armed forces wasn’t a great idea.

No stupid rules of engagement, no nation-building quagmire, no democracy-building exercise, no politically correct wars.

No democracy, no nation building. So what is the actual goal here? Just to shoot stuff for its own sake?

Now I’m hearing that the commanders all gave their troops a speech about doing this for God and Christianity, etc., so it seems like the primary motivation was to kick off the End Times for the religious freaks.

So we’re in it until The Rapture. Our entire world has to burn down to satisfy the fantasies of delusional religious weirdos. How about we Rapture the entire MAGA leadership, and move on?

No god worth worshipping would condone their actions. I stand by the wisdom of Marcus Aurelius, that I will live a moral life and reject any god that has a problem with it. Killing to kill is the mandate of an evil god.

I understand. Whenever one of these psychopaths assume room temperature, I’m always slightly sad that I don’t believe in their mythology.

When Dick Cheney croaked, I remember thinking that it would be really nice to be able to smile at the thought of him having his Welcome Orientation in Hell. Instead, I was just sad for the person who didn’t get a heart because Cheney took it.

Also, bold move to more or less openly defy the American ideals. The moral justification for a lot of what we’ve done is to further the cause of democracy. I don’t think starting a war to bring democracy is necessarily the right decision, but starting a war and not even trying to spread democracy with it is un-American (derogatory)

I thought the whole reason for this was the fact that Iran has killed and imprisoned record numbers of protesters. That sounds to me like regime change is the goal here, but perhaps I’m wrong.

I certainly don’t think they’ll ever succeed in bringing democracy (US track record is atrocious there), but at least it’d be nice if they pretended to try.

Balkanization I think, but I don’t think that will happen because Iran has been a pretty cohesive country for thousands of years. So I suspect Trump will back down, or there will be a multi decade regional war, or there will be a world war.

      For whom?

Europe most probably. This will strenghten right wing parties and weaken thr union… win-win. While the majority of EU is licking US boots after they started a war of agression against a sovereign nation with little to no justification of any kind… I’m tired Boss.

I mean Hegseth said that it was pre-emptive retaliatory action for what the Iranians were surely going to do after the Israelis attacked them. Is that not good enough for you?

I think a big part no one talks about, is all these old men are on gender affirming hormone care because their physical identity doesn’t match their mental identity.

They want to be 20 again, so they’re shooting up enough testorone that they have the logic and critical thinking of a 20 year old.

The alcoholism isn’t helping, but that’s not where the bloodlust is coming from.

I’ve had a couple friends try, and I honestly don’t know why anyone over 40 would ever want to feel 20 again. They all love if for like 6-12 months, before they realize acting like they’re 20 again isn’t a good thing and it’s fucking their lives up.

When the people running the country are on it, they’re fucking all our lives up, the alcoholism is why Hegsworth can’t come that realization on his own, or listen to anyone telling him.

T shouldn’t impact their logic or critical thinking, but it will impact their emotional regulation and impulse control. At least based on my experience with trans guys. And anecdotally when I started E I had about a year or so of getting into stupid fights with my mom despite knowing better before my body adjusted. Getting back to the right amount would probably calm them down, but these guys are more juiced up than a bodybuilder who can’t do math. They’re probably also being tilted by their grapes turning to raisins from that.

But yeah it’s a drunken roid rage by a man who simply refused to mature or develop logic or critical thinking since their teens. And I think that’s a bigger component to his inability to see than the T or the hooch. These men never grew the fuck up, and as such rather than living a good life at each stage, seeking to grow and mature until it is time to return to the earth, they strive to live a life eternally young and foolish, unable to even see that their unhappiness stems from this lifestyle.

And yeah, don’t get me wrong, I miss feeling young, but hormonal instability wasn’t fun either time. I like having stable emotions that can be reasonably controlled.

Even worse, it’s because Anthropic didn’t want it used for mass surveillance on US citizens. They were fine with the military using it for military things.

I don’t know. I think I would take Anthropic’s stance. I’m okay with the military making their work more efficient. It still needs to be a human making the decisions in the kill chain, but there is a ton of processes that can be made better. I’m not okay with mass surveillance of US citizens at any capacity though. Especially not by the DoD…
