This is some seriously weak shit. The only connection is that the poster “teases” that he’s Elon Musk. Speaking as Beyoncè, even if he outright said “I am Elon Musk” it still wouldn’t be strong evidence, but he didn’t even say that, he just posted a bunch of random gibberish that some people read as metaphorically suggesting a connection.
This is QAnon conspiracy nonsense, and repeating it on the pretext of “I’m not saying this, I’m just talking about what other people are saying” is still spreading it.
I mean, sure, maybe this account was Elon Musk in the same way Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer, but like, it’s not actually.

I know that the stuff written in 4chan was awful, but I think that having it as even a major catalyst for fascism globally is very reductive, and doesn’t explain things like conservatives rejecting the Alt-Right, or Democrats simply siding with the party, or various megacorporations funding mass media like Fox News and PragerU, or think-tanks like the Heritage Foundation. Obama did nothing about it when PragerU showed up in 2015 or so, and Biden did little about hate-speech when he was president, but what he did could be weaponized against anti-fascists. For those saying that he was too old to accomplish this, the rest of the party that was younger made the same liberal mistakes he did, and Trump also had his moments where he was babbling, making Biden inexcusable.
If Hillary got elected in '16, and banned hate speech like in Germany and France, it wouldn’t make much a difference in the big picture because they wouldn’t fix the problems with society that made fascism appealing in the first place, because both parties are funded by housing companies, medical companies that charge insane amounts, car companies, the Military-Industrial Complex, and the Israeli apartheid state. She could certainly amend the constitution to allow her to take down 4chan, or actively police YouTube for anti-semites, but when she runs up against the fuel of fascist dialogue, things break down, and she’d probably be ousted from her own party like Bernie Sanders. This is why Pepsi-Cola actively donated money to Texas Republican lawmakers. The people that actually run fascism are the people who have always ran the economy, them being billionaires like Theil and Yarvin, and when speech breaks down, what remains is class interest. Said interest is not of a parent protecting their children, but of a witch fattening up Hansel and Gretel.

Or the scary esotericism of Blavatsky, Nick Land, Evola returning to some spaces of discourse… a lot of that was even being developed on places like /lit/, which you wouldn’t imagine as a threat. Reading these people fantasize about the Kali Yuga is like a cognitive hazard in that it’s difficult not to see how rapidly they’ve managed to put their accelerationist plans into action…
The problem still remains that these were not the people with social capital. Those who shifted society towards the right didn’t go on 4chan and start raids. They funded outlets like the Daily Wire and Prager University. Even the most loving gay couple, or harmless transgender woman goes up against “normalcy”, i.e. the hegemonic culture that people consider normal. Thus, such a culture will find ways to demonize said gay couple, or trans woman, thru any means possible. If 4chan didn’t exist, they’d find another way.

Qanon and then maga makes it easy. It’s “them”. Who is them? Doesn’t matter. Deep state, Jews, immigrants, etc. but the point is there is something concrete and simple to point at when people start looking for answers to the problems they have today. This was all brewing when a bunch of other stuff was going on creating a tinder box.
The reality is something closer to a series of unrelated events slowly becoming entertained within the last 30 years.
Unregulated Capitalism was crashing head first into a technology explosion in the 2000s which companies with capital learned to exploit quickly. It’s capitalism, so they are incentivised to do that The Iraq and Afghanistan wars after 9/11 gave rise to an entire culture of “patriotism” based on xenophobia and Protecting Americans and American Values ( the name of French fries was changed briefly to dunk on France for not helping us enough in the middle east). Automation has exploded in the information age making labor cheaper than ever, moving jobs overseas, reducing head counts in domestic factories, etc. and then 2008 happened.
So people with the power listen to people with money (citizens United), and they pushed susceptible working class people into erroding their own freedoms (remember the patriot act) because they were mad at a Boogeyman that doesn’t actually exist for stealing an American dream from them that was never sustainable after the boomer generation. Unregulated Capitalism will always eat itself. Combine that with Trump being blackmailed by Russian oligarchs for years because he has an ego problem and is very good at losing money right when America is trying to recover from 2008 and some hot we get this bullshit today.
And then when the ruling class realized that the masses are too poor to fight back they just dropped all pretenses.

Apparently the user himself claims to be elon musk, but the most convincing thing so far is that there was some sort of a thread where he discussed the idea to make non-logged users unable to see the content, and hours later this change actually happened on twitter.

There are, at least last I checked, no actual accounts. Users are anonymous but can pick a username for their posts. Since usernames aren’t locked because there’s no accounts, users use tripcodes to verify their identity. It’s basically a hash. There are tripcode explorer programs so you can search for a particular string and it’ll just brute force a bunch of random codes and show you the relevant ones. This fellow apparently searched for “satanzog.” 5 or 6 string length is pretty easy to find. 8 in all caps is pretty nuts, that one probably took a while to find. Days at least. It reads like a LARP, and 4chan is known for that, but Elon is… Well, let’s say this would not surprise me if it was actually him.

4chan doesn’t have accounts. you can just put whatever name you want to in the name field if you so choose. people knew about this and have been posting with his name and trip code for a while. not discrediting that any of them could be him though, a lot most likely are.
