They’re just never going to bring the House back in session…

They can’t control their own party. And they’re not going to pass anything by law. There’s zero incentive for Republicans to bring it back.

After the omnibus you could tell they checked out for the year. This was planned all along. They’re done with democracy and funded their personal army.

David Frum, speechwriter for George W. Bush and an outspoken member of the neocon movement of that era. He was apparently one of the “never Trump” Republicans who foresaw the coming disaster before the 2016 election. He has since left the Republican party and written two books titled Trumpocracy and Trumpocalypse.

Those things run on fiscal years, not calendar years.

But if the House resumes, they have to sit the new members, which means there’s enough to force a procedural vote on releasing the Epstein list.

They’d rather prevent that then do the single filibuster proof bill a year they can get past the Senate.

trump will just keep doing shit and fighting in court than try to pass real laws.

The risk for them is all this combined with the DNC finally pulling their heads out of their ass and fighting for down allot spots again.

We’re not just gonna see a blue wave, we’re gonna see an actual.progressive wave of people who want to fight fascism.

You know? My tinfoil hat says this is why Trump wants to push the Insurrection Act through. Then when it’s pushed through, they can resume the session and when they try and bring the vote for releasing the files he has all Dems arrested for treason.

As much as I’d like to see the birth of an actual progressive party, I think it’s more likely we’ll see the birth of a more moderate version of a Republican party; voters that would today vote for a Bush Jr President over a trump.

I think we’ll see some real progressives, but billionaire elites like Koch, Thiel, etc. are going to let that happen over their dead bodies. They’ve come this far, and they’re damn sure not going to let some idiot kids force them to give up even 1% more of their power/money. Until they’re dealt with appropriately (legally), we’re not going to have real progressive change.

I know right… People have been saying this for TEN years. “The conservative party is going to die out as more old people die off” was the big one in the late 2000s. Then the Republican elite slimeballs realized that was probably true so they invested billions into astroturfing new conservative support, along with all the fascist bullshit too of course.

What we’re seeing now is the result of decades of disciplined effort from Republican/billionaire strategists and lobbyists, and it’s paid off a ton. I don’t think it’s going anywhere for the next few years at least.

      Oh my god.

      1. Pack the courts.
      2. Overturn a bunch of rulings.
      3. Get away with kidnapping US citizens.
      4. Pass the last bit of useful hostile legislation.
      5. Use the “budget” to soft fire every single federal employee.

Badabing badaboom you got yourself plenary control just like they said. We’re so absolutely fucked aren’t we?

        They still get paid…

And corps will still pay bribes, their families still have highly paid do nothing jobs.

They can got to the January after midterms, but if Republicans don’t have the majority and keep Stalin, then that an undeniable coup.

There’d be no more plausible deniability. And a lot of signs point to trump already trying to manufacture a crisis to use as an excuse.

        Johnson is…

But he also knows how hard it is to win a Speaker vote.

That’s the whole point, MAGA barely had the House to begin with, they sure as shit don’t have it now. Even if the majority of the House has an R by their name.
