The two federal immigration agents who fired on Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti are identified in government records as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez.
The records viewed by ProPublica list Ochoa, 43, and Gutierrez, 35, as the shooters during the deadly encounter last weekend that left Pretti dead and ignited massive protests and calls for criminal investigations.
Both men were assigned to Operation Metro Surge, an immigration enforcement dragnet launched in December that sent scores of armed and masked agents across the city.
CBP, which employs both men, has so far refused to release their names and has disclosed few other facts about the deadly incident, which came days after a different immigration agent shot and killed another Minneapolis protester, a 37-year-old mother of three named Renee Good.

Something that jumped out at me: These guys had worked for CBP for ~8 and ~12 years, respectively.
These thugs, who wrestled an uninvolved bystander to the ground, then shot him in the back while he lay there helpless, were not panicky newbs. These were veteran CBP officers.
Is this just what veteran CBP officers are like?
Jonathon Ross, who murdered Renee Good, works for CBP for 10 years. Abolishing ICE isn’t enough. All of DHS needs to be uprooted.
There are a couple possibilities:
We’ve been trying to tell people this.
Well, but a tail light was kicked out. Oh and some spitting happened. Obviously that requires being shot in the back multiple times by Reel Murican Heroez.
That taillight video looks like ai
It was confirmed by his parents.
Hey, so you’re not the first person I’ve seen with this view. Just curious what about the taillight video indicates to you that it is AI and not real footage. Is there anything specific you can point to, or is it just a feeling you have? Honest question, no judgement.
You’re not going to kick a taillight and have it fall out like that unless it was already broken or loose also the wiring is stupidly long. The people in the video I saw also move fucky/ unnaturally unless the video I saw was sped up for a few frames here and there. It could be a doctored video where he really did kick the car, but I doubt the taillight would just fall out like that.
I don’t think this is true information. Why would the admin be honest about this? The gun discipline isn’t of people who have practiced even a year with their weapon, for starters.
They’re painting a picture instead.
According to the article, the names were in government documents which they were able to view. There’s no indication that the information was released or intended for release. It sounds more like someone with access leaked the information to them.
It’s possible that this is a lie, but I don’t see how it helps DHS or the administration. I think it’s a lot more likely that there’s a complete lack of standards and accountability at CBP and ICE and that the problem has festered for decades. Being a 10 year veteran doesn’t mean anything if they aren’t enforcing standards and weeding out anyone who falls short.
They just finally got permission to do what they always wanted i guess.
