Since i do appreciate (rap) songs even if i don’t understand them, I need some recommendations from YOU for non-english rap songs or artists.
(I can’t really distinguish genres, so I’m trusting your judgment whether your recommendation fits)
(I’m also not a fan of german rap but you can recommended that regardless)
Edit: Thank you all for the recommendations 🐐. I did find a lot of new songs.
Creepy nuts
MC Solaar (French rap) Obsolète
If you want a taste of Greek rap (please don’t)
Bloodywood are metal, but they also rap in Hindi
One of the things I love to hear most in music is artists adding traditional or folk elements from their countries. Even though I find Bloodywood’s English lyrics corny, they’re doing something original, and the harsh vocals in Hindi are great.
Romanian (with a tiny bit of Spanish)
Spanish from Spain (with some Arabic too)
Kneecap when they sing in Gaelic
Creepy Nuts’ album LEGION from last year is quite good if you want some Japanese rap. They’ve gotten pretty big over the last few years due to being featured on Anime intros for shows like DanDaDan and Mashle.
Racionais MC and Marcelo D2 for PTBR rap, with the latter being more “hip hop with samba”
Так!
I’ve been listening to Ukrainian hiphop for awhile and it’s way better than I expected.
PVNCH - Як Гонка - Бронепоїзд H8.HOOD - Андерграунд АрХангел - Голка
The Herd - Unpredictable has some English, but it also has a few other languages and it keeps getting faster. I enjoy it a lot.
Not much of a domestic rap listener.
For japanese:
Some tracks by Mori Calliope are primarily Rap
Anything from TokyoHealthClubIt’s not a genre I listen to often, especially not the new music, but these would be my top choices for Balkan rap:
Beogradski Sindikat
Edo Maajka
Gru
Tram 11
Dubioza Kolektiv
IAM - L’École du Micro d’Argent
A fantastic French Rap album, including a feature from Wu Tang
My all time favorite album. Glad someone recommended it
Palestinian Rappers
Daboor & Shabjdeed - Inn Ann (Prod. Al Nather) ضبــور وشب جديد - إن أن
manu chao’s el disaperacido if you missed his classic album Clandestino.
I love Many Chao, but I would have never interpreted it as rap? Anyway, OP said they cannot distinguish genres so it does not matter.
