I assume Bibi ordered them to intentionally let that one through to drum up support for continued strikes against Iran.

The Israeli air defense system is far from impenetrable as we saw from the last Israeli Iranian war when Israel was repeatedly rocked by Iranian missiles. The air defense can be overloaded by saturation attacks and are unreliable/unable to stop hypersonic missiles which Iran does possess.

When Israel attacked Iran last year they did not expect Iran’s response to be as effective as it turned out to be and needed to ask the Americans for help. This time the Israelis made sure to have US back up from the beginning.

Now that it’s been all but confirmed that they allowed Hamas past defences on 10/07 to justify a massive retaliation campaign, this is almost certainly the case

But why when they’re clearly doing what they want anyway.

More likely they just got hit.

As an unrelated note, they are firing Patriots (the ones which can’t be supplied to Ukraine, because “there are too few”) by the dozen. I watched a video from Qatar and literally saw a billion worth of fireworks in 60 seconds.

Part of that has been that:

Under Biden, we were worried about actually going to war with russia. Under fuckface, we are worried about them being used against russia.

But a big part of it is that… patriot missiles fucking suck. So does the Iron Dome. Intercepting even “normal” velocity missiles is really hard. Let alone high velocity ones. It is just that israel has a lot of reason to shape propaganda to pretend they are insanely effective (for their own military industrial complex needs) when it is mostly about getting people into bunkers the second you think there is incoming fire. And then you just don’t really report on why so many construction contracts just hit the market.

And you see this when we deploy patriot missiles elsewhere. Off the top of my head, I want to say the official numbers put the Iron Dome at closer to 80% effectiveness. And patriot missiles… there have been engagements where that number might be closer to 0% than not. With recent use mostly juicing things up with aircraft and drones (MUCH easier targets).

Under fuckface, we are worried about them being used against russia.

Trump is consistently attacking all of Russia’s allies: Assad is gone, Maduro is gone, now Khameni is gone. He’s also forced the rest of NATO to increase their contributions while doing nothing to reduce US funding, making it stronger than ever.

And I’m supposed to believe this is part of Russia’s master plan? It beggars belief.

What it actually looks like is Trump is preparing for a more direct confrontation with Russia, as the feather in his cap for his legacy. He wants to be remembered as the greatest president ever, and in his mind that means crushing all of the US’s enemies.

Forcing European countries to purchase expensive U.S. tech with kill switches in it that can be remotely disabled

Antagonizing nato countries with threats of violence so they can’t keep all their defenses facing Russia

Cutting off funding to Ukraine and leaking info to Russia

Meanwhile, the most recent defense authorization act just earmarked another $800 billion for Ukraine, guarantees a minimum of 76,000 US forces for NATO, and secured the U.S. European Commander as the continued NATO Supreme Commander.

Trump is fooling people into thinking he’s some kind of dove on Russia, but the actual legislation that he signs into law and the actual war footing that’s being implemented are clearly aligned against Russia. You’re sleepwalking right into his trap, he’s tricked people into thinking he wants to make peace with Russia when the reality is that he’s preparing for even more war.

Stop listening to Trump’s words and start paying attention to what he actually does.

Seems like the interception missile hit the incoming missile but failed to destroy it in the air.

I think intercepting missiles explode when they are as close as they will get, and probably just didn’t have the right trajectory.

They managed to kidnap one country leader and assassinate another one in the last months. It’s actually scary how powerful they are.

No doubt it was aimed at a military target. That’s what I read that Iran does in many other threads here.
