Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right
But saying eat the rich on Reddit is like a tradition.
This will probably piss off a lot of soon to be lemmy users.
Let’s hope.
Wow. Back when I lived there, I never would have expected that I wouldn’t be able to say eat the rich.
remember r/antiwork?
they spend good energy trying to discredit that sub genre…
it did not work…
then Luigi
they getting worried about their psyops not working on these key issues.
Plebs’ resentment is getting to strong that PR don’t work and this is making the parasite nervus.
Good, fuck them, they should not feel comfortable living among us. You can’t expect to ruin people’s lives and then be the good guy.
Pepperidge farms remembers.
Ya, I member!
What about “France them”
They’re going to need crazy euphemisms, like on TikTok with unalived and things like that.
I like the sound of “I hope X has a great day.”
It’s hard to see how they can ban that. I hope the people fighting to keep the oligarchy going have a great day, and I hope the spineless Reddit executives who made this decision have a great day.
commenting the word black, or demographic can get you banned too.
The rich wannabe oligarchs are taking over every social media platform and news agencies. Twatter, TikFuck, FaceFuck, Instabam, CNN, WaPo and now Reddit. To hell with all of them.
a fellow noticer…
Just don’t think about it… or try pointing it out, lest you become undesirable to the administration
Yup. Wonder if Reddit will similarly moderate those who make comments like “your body my voice”, “51st state” etc
If they were actually consistent, /r/conservative would be gone pretty quick among other things
reddit realized r/conservative, conspiracy was bringing alot of traffic to reddit so they dint ban the sub. now its being purposely pushed to the front page.
a *lot of traffic
I wonder how much of that is currently bots though at this point…
spez/huffman have been shilling for trump for a while.
You gotta bust out that ol’ thesaurus.
‘‘Consume the abundance’’
‘‘Ingest the waxed’’
‘‘Partake in the Bloated’’
‘‘Drink down the Hog swaggle’’
‘‘Caramelize the Cashhavers’’
‘‘Snoot up the Heavy Laiden’’
Partake in the Bloated goes kinda hard tbh
99% chance there’s already an obscure metal band/album with that name and fans would rage at me for calling it merely metal.
I hope it’s Groove Metal with unexpected but fitting jazz influence.
I was banned for the same thing but I wasn’t so nice about what I’d like to do to the wealthy.
Pigboy is worried how he’ll taste with Carolina BBQ sauce
(I don’t actually want to eat him. God knows what’s in his feed.)
Recently had a friend tell me that he couldn’t even read reddit comments anymore because of all the “SJW bs”. “I’m as centrist as they come and reddit has just gone way too far left recently”. I haven’t spoken to him since and was a little surprised by the total lack of awareness, as he’s generally a very intelligent & fun person.
There have been problematic comments in the past, but it’s not possible to keep the peace with the current political/societal state - the mental / emotional exhaustion is just too much.
Someone told you that recently? lol. You literally cannot stand up against bigots without getting in trouble on reddit.
try reporting them, you get banned instead, or your comment gets ignored. tried to call them out you get brigaded and possibly reported by them.
My perma-ban from reddit was for saying mean things to a transphobe who declared that trans people “aren’t humans”
And chuds want us to believe reddit is a leftist paradise.
Reddit has rules against inciting coprophagy? TIL.
Iss die Reichen
Same rule would quite honestly improve Lemmy quite a bit.
Not because of political reasons, but because it gets annoying opening any news post, expecting interesting discussion, and getting a bunch of versions of “eAt tHe rIcH” and guillotine comments instead.
That’s like reddit behavior
We are reddit though just on a different site… lot of people mainly moved because of the api change.
Even someone believing they are “not like other redditors” is one of the most reddit stereotypes. Haha.
Is eat the rich generally a call for violence? I actually don’t really know what people mean when they say this.
It has always been a threat / call to violence and anyone saying otherwise is trying to justify it / soften the meaning.
Why would I say otherwise to justify? And regarding the softening, that’s no problem some meat tenderizer won’t solve, It’s not that you have to be rich, you know. Handing over the loot is not too much to ask, seriously. If you can’t find the irony in there, you might want to watch the same titled movie from the 1980s. I doubt you’ll like it.
If we let the rich continue as they have been doing, then we’ll be forced to either all starve to death or sustain ourselves on the only meat available.

Well then that’s probably a violation of Reddit policy. And some Lemmy instance rules.
Which was your goal in asking.
Nah I was just curious how people mean it. I don’t give a shit about the rules.
French revolution, Jean-Jacques Rousseau supposedly said “When the poor have nothing to eat, they will eat the rich.”
it is a slogan calling for an eradication of the extremely influential and powerful, to redistribute their wealth and return it to those whom it was stolen from.

The rich don’t tend to want to lose their assets voluntarily.
Sure but there are many possible ways to solve that issue.
When you say eradicate, as in remove their station in society or actually kill those people?
i would personally like to see a trial held similar to Nuremberg, these people need to have their crimes vocalised.
Thanks for your opinion. I think different people have different meanings when they use this phrase.
that is the left in a nutshell lol
Lol if there’s no answer it’s also an answer. So do what you will.
Also, I don’t believe vague calls for violence like this are even illegal in the US. Has to be something specific and actionable.
Also, I don’t believe vague calls for violence like this are even illegal in the US. Has to be something specific and actionable.
Yep. It’s kinda dismaying how many people either don’t understand that or don’t want to understand that.
To be fair, you’re still presuming the “old system/rules” holds true for you. Did you see the “campus protest” EO, for example? Not a huge leap to arresting anything they deem illegal.
I’ve always viewed it as a call to repurpose the resources currently hoarded by the rich.
I think Reddit is just pretending to interpret it as incitement to cannibalism.
I agree, except that it looks a lot different now after Luigi.
For now. Internationally, that phrase has been around for much longer than that, and I think it will be around for a lot longer.
masticate the unpoors
A borning dystopia indeed.
It’s because of the new Reddit rules, Admins are doing a purge atm
How is this different from when regime started burning books back in the day?
It isn’t.
