Sounds like a draft is being planned for the occupation of Iran, aka Vietnam v.4

Idiots. You are all fucking idiots. Yes, you, from OP to every single person in the comments. All of you are too fucking stupid to spend even 30 seconds reading past the most bullshit, click-bait, headline of all time.

No one is talking about reinstating the draft. No one is talking about specifically excluding Barron Trump. Do you dumb fucks want to know what this article is actually about?

IF the draft DID get reinstated (despite literally no one considering it), Barron Trump MIGHT get exempt because he TECHNICALLY falls outside the maximum height requirements.

That’s it. That’s fucking it. No nepotism. No potential draft. Just complete made up horseshit. It’s like saying “If we made drinking milk mandatory for people who are younger than 18, Baron Trump might be excluded because he’s older than 18.” Like, no fucking shit.

All of you need to go look in a fucking mirror and rethink your media literacy, because it’s fucking garbage. You fucking idiots.

Go piss in the wind moron. You’re current leadership is on the same fucked up level as the fucking Nazis who completely failed to understand military strategy and ignored the advice from their best military officers. If the orange clown becomes desperate, because he does not have a fucking plan. he will institute the fucking draft. The US military does have enough boots to occupy and police Iran. Thankfully, the EU leaders will not send their best young people into a shit show created by a bunch of chauvinistic, racist, religious fucknuts and pedophile losers. The USA and Israel are their own and your ass better sign the dotted line or if you are a former soldier, reenlist. I already have my honorable discharge and it blows my mind the USA is repeating history under shittier circumstances and planning.

The outrage might be a little over the top, but the sentiment is valid. Click baity shit like this is why no one pays attention to the actual outages going on.

If people are constantly seeing articles like ‘Trump didn’t say he would rule out pushing toddlers into wood chippers to combat climate change’ and the article goes on to talk about how he was asked about what he had for breakfast, then outrage is a little hard to keep up. I actually think that’s the worst/best tactic trump has used… Keep the outage going so steadily that people are worn out when the real stuff is out in the headlines.

Wouldn’t want pesky things like that getting in the way of manufactured outrage for dumb shits like you to lap up.

diagnosed President Trump with bone spurs as a favor to his father, Fred Trump, in order to help him avoid the military draft.

So Barron might be “too tall” to serve his country…? and even if he’s not I’m sure we’ll find out real quick that bone spurs run in the family.

It’s so insane that it has always been standard practice for wealthy and powerful men to start wars then refuse to send their own children to fight, but it’s especially egregious watching the Trump administration carry this shit out. The level of planning leading up to this to create another endless war seems so obvious in hindsight.

    •Hegseth’s “anti-woke” military speech

•Elimination of government loans for education (even for nursing and medical school, so only the wealthy can afford an education, let alone a deferment. If you’re not born rich you have 2 options: take out private loans at a huge interest rate or join the army. Sign yourself over to the oligarchs one way or the other.)

•Up the country’s birth rates (gotta gradually replace them as they die by the thousands at war)

•Openly admitting your goal is to eliminate the entire department of education. Because you don’t need an education when your entire path birth to death has already been laid out for you:

You’re born to serve while Trump and his oligarchs sit in their country club and move you around like a piece of plastic on a game board.

Life is hard and it seems like people are constantly fighting and dying around you from the moment you’re born. It’s all you know. Everyone around you is sick, destitute, and miserable. There are no jobs. You have no education. You know nothing but struggle and see no future for yourself.

The army is the only hand reaching out and offering to help pull you up, so you grab it.

Then you either die thousands of miles away from your home or you come back and spend the rest of your life wounded, without a doubt mentally and pretty often physically.

If you try to speak out against it or warn others, you’re accused of being “woke.” There is no hesitation to show you how little your rights, that you were told you were fighting for, mean to the people who sent you to fight.

I grew up in a very rural area. This describes the situation there decades ago.

I don’t have exact numbers, but I would say something like 10-15% of my class actually went on to higher education. Probably less, and definitely less than that finished.

Very, very many went into some branch of the military. When the first war on Iraq started I figured that might be our generation’s Vietnam and that many of my graduating class would be fodder for it. Luckily for them, that ended up not being the case.

In any case, songs like Born in the USA and Fortune Son really land pretty hard…

Honestly the only perk of feudalism is that the princes would have to go to war. Unfortunately it was prone to make them worse leaders by way of trauma, but hey, sometimes they died.

How much they actually fought depended a lot on the prince/duke.

Some led their troops into battle, some directed from the rear and had knights to defend them if the battle went poorly enough that the enemy engaged with them directly (with some fighting to the death from there, others surrendering to be ransomed, and some being killed whether or not the fought or surrendered), others fled as soon as they thought the battle wasn’t going their way (which often caused their side to lose even if it had a chance).

And some had a friend or subordinate lead their army while they maybe led a different army or maybe just chilled in the comfort of whatever castle they were in.

Or they named someone else the governor of a certain area and then left subduing whatever was going on there to them, often just naming the other party the governer if their first candidate sucked (which wasn’t rare, since it was mostly nepotism).

Not really. Firstly, knights were heavy cavalry. By the time they’re walking in battle shit’s gone sideways and there’s a decent chance they’re injured either by whatever knocked them off their horse, falling off their horse, or the whole process of their horse getting injured or killed and going down. And in that vein, the pointy sticks are about stopping the horse, not the knight. A pike wall (as well as fortifications like ditches) creates areas of denial for knights and danger to their horses. A bunch of poor people with long sticks are how you stop knights.

Medieval warfare in open fields was largely about archer volleys attempting to wear each other down and to damage pike walls enough that they break formation allowing knights to ride in and rout (basically come in and kill everyone). Pike formations outlasted armored knights with the rise in quality and availability of firearms simply being integrated into their formations. This is how you get the Renaissance era walls of people lining up to shoot each other.

At least that’s what I remember from various learning of it, definitely not an expert.

I’ve been expecting this for a long time. Trump will definitely attempt a draft, with lots of loopholes for wealthy children.

I suspect that he’ll announce it in early 2027, after the Midterms, and after the Holidays. You don’t want this being the main subject of American families as they gather at Christmas. Wait until they’re isolated in their homes in the January winter, then spring it on them.

I actually expect all males under 40 have to sign up for the draft and show up at recruiting centers. If you are overweight the government will take over production of glp-1 and force those over weight on it. They will profile your social media using some kind of palentir program to assess your risk to the government cause and possibly send those most against the government to the front lines under equipped.

Adding MAGA law here is just really weird.

Registering for the draft was passed into law in 1917 by Woodrow Wilson. 29 years before Trump was born.

Calling that “MAGA” law makes no sense practically or historically

Instead of inventing scenarios or trying to equate all federal law to “MAGA law” we could focus on the very real crimes the administration is committing and the ones they’ve publicly announced they are planning.

this isn’t backed by anything and is an entirely made up scenario.

It is backed by the fact that if MAGA sees an opportunity, it will exploit that opportunity to the fullest extent. They have no sense of moderation.

So if they see a chance to weaponize a draft, and use it to manage those they see as potential enemies, they will absolutely do it.

We know this about MAGA, and they have proved it countless times. The US government is now the same as MAGA. It is the MAGA Government, and they will behave like we’ve seen MAGA behave for the last decade.

Yeah it’s possible, but I don’t see the point in making up scenarios when they are doing more than enough now. There’s a couple thousand laws they could figure out a way to weaponize, doesn’t mean they will and doesn’t suddenly make those laws “MAGA law”.

Equating all federal law to “MAGA law” is incredibly reactionary.

Barron stands at a staggering 6’9’’ tall, meaning he may be too tall for the Army, particularly for specific roles involving restricted space like armored vehicles, tanks, or aircraft. Generally, max height limits (e.g., 80 inches/6’8" in the US Army) are enforced to ensure safety and fit within equipment.

Honestly with this I have doubts he’s the full 6’9". Unless we have pics of him having to duck to enter rooms or something (a friend of mine is that tall, the standard American door frame is shorter than that). Anything above 6’6" is indistinguishable to most people and just registers as “holy fuck you’re tall”. And so yeah a “fucking hell you’re tall” guy being given an extra inch or two on documents to avoid a draft is just extremely believable to me, especially when his dad is a draft dodge4 planning on starting a war.

Anyways I have no evidence but that’s my little conspiracy theory

Wouldn’t be the first time people in power surround themselves with people to make themselves look better.

It takes a special turd to not draw interest from basketball programs at 6’9" in the US. There’s some teams that recruit on height alone and worry about teaching skills later. The fact that he wasn’t even sniffed at by a college coach somewhere is pretty telling.

For all we know, every single athletic program in the USA tried to get this one. But can you imagine even one of the Trump family doing actual work? No, thanks, coach!

Not really. You need to have athletic grace. I’ve got a childhood friend that tall and while he had some attempts to get him on the high school team he just obviously lacked the kinesthetic ability to play sports at even a varsity level. None of the colleges he attended even asked.

True re: Don the Con but…

      Clerk, logistics, cook, etc.

There’s a tonne of jobs he could do while being tall. While it may be a legitimate reason for not serving, it seems frivolous (especially considering the context).

I know you meant Heel Spurs, but now I’m imagining Trump taking off his shoes for a nap and a bunch of nasty mushrooms springing forth.

      205.74 cm

That is tall. He’s even taller than King of Spain. US will have a magnificently tall monarch one day.

Sounds like a draft is being planned for the occupation of Iran, aka Vietnam v.4

I doubt it, or at least, I hope you’re wrong. This would go down like a lead balloon if they did it. The war is super unpopular in the US, probably super, suuuper unpopular among military age young men… who are, broadly speaking, either far left, or anti-semitic… like, a draft is a potential mass unrest inducing event. surely they won’t do it

Oh, yeah, they won’t do anything stupid, like starting a wildly unpopular war that will spike gas prices during a midterm campaign that is already about high prices. /S

They already KNOW they’ll get clobbered at the Midterms, so announcing a Draft will be the perfect punishment. Vote against MAGA? We’ll just kill your children.

A draft will be a mass resistance event, and they love the chaos. That’s exactly the reason they WILL do it.

Trump wants unrest so he can instate martial law and begin his reign of terror in earnest.

Now that he’s got the military aligned toward a traditional target, they will remain organized in war mode, and become accustomed to following whatever orders come down.

They will be a lot more difficult to turn against the MAGA government now. I suspect that’s the real reason they invaded now.

Who’s victim blaming? I’m more than one of his target groups. If you think this is what martial law looks like you’re in for a shock though. What we’ve seen so far is barely worse than average US police brutality. Things can and likely will get a whole lot uglier.
