Why does it seem like everyone forgot that he already tried to rig the elections on Jan 6 (not you specifically, but America as a whole)? Democracy officially died on January 20, 2025, and we were screaming from the rooftops that it was going to die if Trump were reelected. But Trump is just a symptom of a larger issue.
The real rot in our system has been here since the founding of the country. The founding fathers chose capitalism as the form of economics, and what they didn’t realize (or maybe did) was that they were just replacing one king with another. They explicitly allowed people who seek power to continue to be allowed to have power over others. Regardless of how much it is or isn’t regulated, it will always lead back to the same road. Call it monarchy, oligarchy, fascism, dictatorship, or whatever else you want, but this is the road that we travel down whenever we allow rulers in society.

If we need more than that we’re beyond fucked, but the track forward may get bumpy and there may be civil disruptions as various states, agencies and companies actually start preparing for an authoritarian takeover on US soil, it would likely come with something akin to martial-law, which people will resist and there would be large-scale violence that could disrupt power grids, water and sewage, and of course logistics routes.
It wouldn’t last forever, we’re nowhere capable of an actual civil war on US soil unless like, half the armed-forces don’t follow the leader, but by then it’s very likely the admin will have replaced every general and military leader as they’ve been trying to do. But it could get very bad for a lot of people.
